Dr. Vineet Sehgal completed his MBBS in December 2003 from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot. He then pursued MD (Medicine) from the same institute and earned the degree in May 2008.

Subsequently, he completed DM (Neurology) in 2011 from the PG Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. Due to his dedication and academic acumen, Dr. Sehgal passed all three degrees on his first attempts.

With practice as a Consultant Neurologist for about seven years at Fortis Hospital, Amritsar, Dr. Sehgal has vast experience in the medical field. He served as a Senior Resident Neurology at PGIMER, Chandigarh. During the initial days of his career, he also acted as a Junior Resident of Medicine at the Government Medical College, Patiala.

Dr. Vineet is an avid Researcher who has multiple publications and book chapters to his credit. In addition, he is an active member of several scientific societies, including the Indian Academy of Neurology (IAN), International Headache Society, Neurological Society of India (NSI), and more.

Dr. Vineet Sehgal is a well-renowned medical professional who has received various honours and awards throughout his career. He is a gold medalist and university topper in MD (2008). Furthermore, he has presented numerous papers at multiple medical conferences around the country.

Dr. Vineet is adept at various clinical skills, including:

  • Stroke thrombolysis.
  • Performing and interpreting transcranial doppler and carotid doppler neck vessels.
  • Injecting Botox with EMG guidance.
  • Performing nerve conduction studies and EEG.
  • Performing muscle and nerve biopsies.

Dr. Vineet Sehgal has been a pioneer in his field for a long time. He started a state-of-the-art botox clinic for Neurology patients in 2013. In 2014, he was behind starting a stroke helpline for benefitting common people in Amritsar.

In 2016, Dr. Vineet started dedicated clinics for seizure, stroke, headache and stroke patients in Amritsar. Currently, he is heading the Neurology Unit of Amandeep Medicity Hospital, one of the largest tertiary care hospitals in this region and Sehgal's Neuro centre. In addition, he started the epilepsy unit, epilepsy follow-up clinic, and neurophysiology laboratory (EEG, Video EEG), the first of its kind lab in this region equipped with the latest generation of Japanese Machines.

Dr. Vineet Sehgal carries out a wide range of voluntary work as well. He offers free-of-cost treatment to people with poor socioeconomic status inside and outside of his practice. He also hosts webinars as the current secretary of the Indian Epilepsy Association, Punjab Chapter to raise awareness of epilepsy among people. Moreover, he hosts public awareness meetings on World Stroke Day, World Epilepsy Day, World Headache Day and Parkinson's day. He aims to deliver information through educational videos in vernacular Punjabi language for laymen.

Dr. Sehgal has been on the receiving end of multiple awards by the government, corporate and other organisations. Some of his notable honours include:

  • The 'Pillars of Medical Sciences' award by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab (2021).
  • The 'Parman-Patta' by the district administration Amritsar (2019).
  • 'Punjab State Award 2021' for selfless work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He has also received various certificates and awards from well-known organisations including Dainik Jagran Newspaper, Banks, Guru Nanak Dev University, rotary clubs and medical colleges.

Dr. Vineet Sehgal played a significant role in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic. He put in relentless efforts to debunk myths, spread awareness and solve queries related to the disease. Dedicated to serving the people, he prevented unnecessary admissions of patients in hospitals. Furthermore, he provided free telephonic consultation to over 1000 COVID-19 patients while counselling them regarding home management of mild symptoms.
