Smile Train is a US based charity organization devoted to the treatment of clefts all over the world. The organisation was started in USA in 1999 & in India in 2000. Amandeep Hospital was selected as a partner hospital by Smile Train organization in the year 2004 & is considered as one of the best S.T centre in the country providing comprehensive treatment & care to the cleft patients in the form of free surgeries, speech therapies & dental treatment.
Team Amandeep with the collaboration of Smile Train organization also went to Uzbekistan for “Smile Uzbek Project” & did 60 cleft surgeries there.
Amandeep Hospital & International Charity Organisation Smile Train Celebrated 5000 free surgeries for cleft children
On 7th Nov 2014 Amandeep Hospital celebrated 5000 free cleft surgeries with the collaboration of our organization. Chief Guests of the occasion were Miss Poonam Mittal who is a donor to the smile train organization from Texas, USA. She flew all from UK to attend the function. Alongwith her were, Miss Mamta Karoll, Smile Train’s Regional Director South Asia & Miss Renu Mehta, country Director India.
In the presence of Guest of Honour, Dr. Rajiv Bhalla, Civil Surgeon Amritsar & other Medical Luminaries of Amritsar, Dr. Ravi Mahajan presented a hospital survey of 5000 clefts surgeries done by Amandeep Hospital. Whole of the Team Amandeep including the doctors & the staff concerned were honoured on this achievement. A video film was presented depicting the lives of cleft patients & their parents before & after the operation with the help of Smile Train organization. A street play to create awareness about the clefts was presented by renowned theatre personality Mr. Kewal Dhaliwal. Honouring of the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour & other guests were followed by short speeches of Chief Guest, Guest of Honour. Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Medical Director, Amandeep Hospital concluded the event by “Vote Of Thanks.”
